I'm Nathaniel, and I like to build things

I've been a carpenter for the last six years. From working on the rugged Maine coast to focusing on efficiency and precision as a remodeling carpenter in Madison, Wisconsin, I'm constantly seeking to challenge myself and grow my skills. I have spent much of the last few years exploring precision through customization, crafting tool-belts and workbenches to suit the level of detail and care I am driven to achieve.

A classic restless soul, I am continually creating in my head and in the shop. If I want to build something, I will seek out the knowledge and capabilities to fulfill my vision, often pushing myself to new media. I have also written for construction related publications over the last few years, enjoying sharing my projects and highlighting aspects of the trade I find inspiring. My goal for the next phase in my career is to use my skills and tooling to tackle more challenging projects.

If you're here, it's likely because you're interested in my work, or are a fellow maker interested in some of the projects I've done. Regardless, I hope the things I've made over the years pique your interest, and I'd love to hear from you.
